bellhousing vent was puking oil and housing was FULL of blackish oil. It smelled a little like hydraulics but it was black. Hydraulics are slow and weak. Got the machine this way from auction. Filters in tank look immaculate and clean.

I was wondering if the shaft seals on the pump could be gone. Swing motor dipstick tube is not full of oil


Any ideas what to loook for? Should I continue to pull the pumps and inspect?

How much oil should be in the bell housings acting as a damper?
