Hey all.

Does anyone know where the adjustment is for the horsepower setting on a Komatsu PC400/450-6 hydraulic pumps?

Or better still, a copy of the relevant pages of the shop manual to share?

Thanks.

Thanks to scoops25 for emailing me some pages. Got the problem fixed now.

The story is this machine is an old abused thing. Nothing electrical works and all the world and his wife have had a go at fixing it.

The original complaint was low power which someone tried to fix, (how, nobody knows but we noticed all the lockwires on the governor had been cut off  ) and then a week later the engine developed massive blowby, blew all the oil out of the breather and then ran a big end.

That's when we came in to the picture. We installed a secondhand engine but it was immediately obvious the hydraulics were all over the place. One pump was almost killing the engine and the other was barely upstroking. The powershift electrics weren't working and the owner didn't want to spend the money fixing it.

So by monitoring engine RPM whilst tinkering with the load sensing pressure and tweaking the HP screws, we've managed to get it working at an acceptable level. :)
