Working in a Kobelco SK210-8E. We put a hydraulic thumb on it but can not get it to work. It will lower but will not raise without curling the bucket. You can curl the bucket in or out and it will raise. Just curling the bucket not using it to push the thumb up. There is a switch on the right console that you can change from bucket mode to nibbler to breaker mode. There is also those modes on the display that can be selected. Using any of those modes does not seem to make any difference. Does the same thing in all of them.

Are there settings inside the modes? In my Sany you can adjust flow rates, this is the setup for my hammer, when in thumb mode RL is set at 80% also, there is also a valve under the hood got I need to turn when using/not using the hammer20241203_151737.jpg

I think all the changes are made in the cab on the display and on the right console. I'm not sure on the flow rate. A hammer would use more flow than a thumb right? I think I need to see if the electrical side of it is working right on the switch on the right console.

I am not sure about this, but I have the thumb set at 80% so when I curl the bucket with something clamped in the thumb I have a bit of relief also not sure if changing the flow related to speed of the thumb

I'm not sure either. Once it gets back to the shop I'm going to look into the electrical part of it to see if that is all working.

Changing flow should affect speed of the thumb unless there's a flow restrictor limiting the maximum flow.

Did you set the pressure and flow settings correctly for your thumb. will the thumb bring the machine out of auto idle.

No, I have not set pressure or flow. I'm not sure how to do that or what they should be. I think someone told me pressure should be around 2200 PSI. I don't know if the thumb will bring it out of idle, but I am thinking it doesn't. It's not at the shop right now.
