Wife's little honda had a door window go "thunk". At least that's the description I got. Door window regulator cable slipped through the plastic mount, trashed the cable in the cable reel. I was kinda surprised, the new regulator and track complete was only like $60. I was guessing it would be over $100.
A update on the '05 ford with cam phaser issues: phaser issues turned into bad cams, then it turns out the cams ate into the aluminum heads, because ford decided cam bearings were not necessary. Repair shop was going to be over $5,000 if I had one head replaced, and over $7,000 for them to install a reman engine. I don't really need them to replace the motor for me, so I paid them for their time, and took the rollback over there and loaded it up. Reman engine showed up just before thanksgiving. $3,000 for a reman engine, 3 year and 100,000 mile warranty. The reman engines supposedly have cam bearings in the heads.
