Just finished installing new under carriages on a 850j and a 750j, everything is new, when these 2 machines get into soupy mud the tracks go bow string tight and bang like sob, almost like they are snapping over the sprocket segment's. trash holes are in the new pads, wide track. as soon as you put them on hard ground and move 20 feet the tracks relax (at proper track adjustment) and nothing happens when on hard ground, I,m stumped. I've changed hundreds of under carriages' in my career and have never seen this, anybody run into something like this. Also these are after market under carriages from equipment sales.

The 850j had 2 new complete track adjusters installed with under carriage and the 750j had both springs replaced and resealed at Toromont cat.

I'm no expert, but if I had to guess the tracks are to tight for the soil conditions, and the recoil spring is popping the tracks making a bang sound.
