I am going to look at a John Deere 544H with 27XX hours to purchase for utility work. Does anyone have experience with this model and what to look for on them besides the normal pin wear and engine stuff? Do you think it would work well in this application? Thanks for your help!

If it's 2700 hours for real, you'll have a good machine! Maintain the oils and the coolant, and you will get plenty more work out of it. Yes, it will work well in that application; a 544h is as good as any other loader that size, and better than the newer emission controlled machines..
