How about a little more info? Or check at a tractor forum, these old deere's are all alike, but there might be minor differences that make the advice half true.

Is this a radial piston pump that supplies all the hydraulics? Do you have other hydraulics functioning? then I'd say to look at your steering valve. Typically a JD priority valve contains a system relief that would cause that line to get hot if it was held open by a bit of junk as that is a constant pressure closed center system.
