We were in the market to buy a new excavator and had called a JCB JS 220 LC for demo . The machine was new and in good condition , with no sign of wear and tear . We tested the machine for almost 11 hours , mainly it was used in the removal of over burden from our basalt mine . The machine after good testing was rejected . There was one hydraulic pipe failure , the machine looked unstable and was very heavy on fuel , for most of the time it required a higher setting of power than say hitachi .
