I have a JCB 520 that needs the telescoping cylinder repacked.
The Rea pin has been a pain we have tried heat and a make shift tool to pull the pin with no luck at all. Does anyone have experience with this machine? Any Advice is greatly appreciated.

Can you get to the back side and push on it? Do you have a hollow ram cylinder you can use to pull it?

I’m assuming it doesn’t go all the way across…the other side still has a bolt in it. Honestly torch it out and put a new one in. Exothermic is your friend here.

Looks like the pin had something welded to it at some point. Can you put a big impact wrench on the bolt and see if the pin will turn? Also looks like someone missed with a hammer putting a lip on the edge of the pin.

The pin looks to be the boom pivot as well as the telescope ram mount.
My guess is that it goes right through the body. The bolt needs to come out the other end, if by some miracle you move it.
Being a rental machine it may not of been greased and lips will be worn into pin compounding the issue.
If you manage to move the pin, you will have to “rock” the boom to prevent it catching on the worn section on the pin.
I would oxy ends out off the pin and lift boom up.
Could try sawzall the pin between the body and the boom but would be a long day.
