The flat track is coming along and the guy helping me is putting time in although he's usually late. I own the track but nobody seems to think they should talk to me before planning anything at the track. The president of the club posted about a race on June 8/9 that was talked about previously. When the guy helping me finally got a hold of him a couple weeks ago to ask about the race, the guy lies and said he went out 3 weeks ago when parts of the city got 4" of snow and the track was a foot under water. BS, I was working on the track and it didn't get any snow. Flat track Canada set a school for June 14/15 but never even contacted me to check the date or let me know. The pres. of the club and a friend came out to try the track on Sunday and gave some good feedback. The corners were a little choppy and needed some smoothing off but otherwise he really liked it. We were planning to have the grand opening on June 9 instead of the race and have hot dogs and pop and no charge to try the track out. Pres. says it can't be free, you put a lot of money into it. Then says maybe hold off until the school and you can get the corners fixed. OK, gives us a little more time to get things ready. It looks Like I can hire the county grader next week, perfect.
Had to fix a leak on the Cat and am going to haul sand for the corner run offs this week. Come home and check and my e-mails and the pres. sent out a mass e-mail saying the track is open for this weekend (June 8/9), $40 and all tires including knobbies are welcome. Didn't consult with me or the guy helping me at all but did get a text a grader was coming next week. We figured having the grand opening the next weekend would give another week to get the track in optimum shape. Is there a polite way to tell people to *&^%$#! off and they need to check with ME first before THEY decide how I should run my track? The e-mail from this club pres. was way out of line to say the least.
