Thanks for the post, I've no joy yet trying to remove the steering cylinder on my Case 585.

Can't get the rod ends out of the eyes ?
Put a lot of pressure on them with a hydraulic jack. Then hit the outside of the eye really hard with a big hammer.
I have never seen one that didn't come out doing that.
