So your pump has a plate on the side. That would mean that it is a sleeve metering pump. On the back end of the governor housing there will be a 1/2" bolt Head, that's the timing pin. On the side of the pump to the left of the plate will be a small cover, 2 small bolts hold it in place. On that small cover will be a bolt with a 9/16" head, remove it and that's where the timing pin goes to pin the pump in the proper position. The timing is a long precession shaft in order to reach the camshaft of the injection pump. Put the timing pin in that hole, it will drop down to the shaft surface. Turn the engine by hand until the pin drops into the slot in the pump shaft. If your timing was right before, it's good. You can then remove a plug on the front side of the flywheel housing. It also has a 9/16" head, use a long 3/8"NC bolt, it should thread into the flywheel. Let me know how you make out, Good Luck.
