Hitachi zx35u final drive

Hi, can anyone offer some advice as to the removal of the cover plate on the final drive of a zx35u, I have managed to remove the stopper ring/wire but I dont want to damage the cover plate which is being rather stubborn, is there a special way to remove it, I presume it should just pull off and not unscrew? Thanks in advance.:Banghead

Remove drain plugs, screw bolts into ports. Then put a pry between them and spin it off.
You'll turn it and lift at the same time. It should come right off.
