Hitachi ZX225 USR. Telescoping stick, deep reach

This is something I had never seen before. I found it pretty interesting. Its a Hitachi ZX225 with a telescoping stick. Pretty specialized, but cool. Seems like the wear would be pretty minimal with the stick being always vertical when sliding. The bucket looks small, but i guess a 225 is not a giant machine.

Neat technology but probably overkill, cost wise wouldn't a cable operated crane with a clamshell be better?

More efficient (no heavy stick to hoist, bigger bucket, less fuel)

If you could run that stick horizontally it might make the ultimate gradall though.
