Couple pics of a little beastie that was made for a specal job back in NZ 20 or so years ago. Was born an Internatiomal R190 truck and then turned into this. Powered by 392ci IH petrol engine mounted behind the front axle with an Allison auto behind it, the driver sat in front of the front axle and gained entry by way of a sliding roof, was built by the fitters in the workshop for the job of carting the large Hydro penstock pipes.

Very nice unit. ;)

Let's see, it's still got a fuel tank on the side of it, so, that means it still has an engine? A little more fancy than a typical steer dolley. Cool.

Theres a man that specializes in windmill blade hauling. He has an old IH cabover that has an open top operators station beside hind the driverside wheel with a funky ujoint and driveshaft set up. to run up and over to the PS box. the shifter has been moved over to the side to run it. Also the front and rear of the cab is armor plated with 3/4 inch plate. He said it was terrifying the first 2 or three trips he took thinking about the fron or rear tires blowing out or hitting a carcass in the road.
