help/advice on a link belt

I have a emergency stop light and alarm going off I cant seem to figure it out I have power to the emergency stop switch turn it off and it wont fire. They put an after market joystick control on for the thumb control a guy tried to switch the controls around and let awire.bump*one it wasnt*supposed.to*and.melted most of the wires in the new harness. I installed a new controller and harness. What is the chances it might have messed up the electrical board that is under the switch or maybe its a bad relay and ideas would help
