The photo with the road & rock cliff, gives the old saying of "Rock & a Hard Place a new meaning.

A couple of guys have emailed me about Hayes dashes. This is a dash that I made for one of my future projects. What I've done is made it in two different configurations. One with the Allison automatic transmission and one with two sticks. This dash is the same in the HD model, WHD model and HDX as well as WHDX.

Great looking dashes HDX.

I almost have the little HD ready for paint. I will add a few more things as it comes apart to be painted but all the major work is done now.

Blk prince I scoped out the trailers for ya We have 5 ex Crown Z preload trailers Two are in pieces (42-168 42-181) one is just needing tires and air lines (42-174) and two are still in use (42-176 42-177) Both these trailers will fit on H17 now because they have the big pin but with the narrow track trailer axles they don't sit on there very well. You guys didn't have the trailer guides on the rear ramps on your Pacifics as was on the Hayes's The trailer numbers are cut out of a plate mounted on the R/R side of the trailer body behind the trailer bunk Is it all coming back now??? LOL

HDX those numbers are newer than any I pulled. Ido remember a difference in the ramps. With the cable loading, the trailer could wander off a little. Not a problem with hydraulic lift. Are the ones in use on ex CZ or BCFP trucks?

Dear RCP57, Excellent job on the HD! Could you build a full size one? LOL! Then I could have a Hayes in my front yard!

I'd like to come over to the island for the Truck Show in July, any one know the dates? It will on depend on life around here. Who organizes the truck show? Does anyone know? Maybe I could contact them to find out the dates.

Thanks very much. I wouldn't mind having a real one in my own yard!lol

The show is on the 12-13 of July at the Duncan Forest Discovery Center. I hope to see a bunch of you guys there! http://www.athsvancouverislandchapter.com/

HDX: Are these the preload trailers with folding reaches? Sounds interesting. I'd like to take a look at them if you could point me in the right direction.

DBDLS No These are the same kind of trailers I have on H17 with the reach sticking out the back !! These trailers are sometimes a pain in the ##s. When you are turning around in the bush --specially when we are loading right of way wood you have to try and turn around with that pipe sticking in between the standing trees. It is common to kind of bump a tree or siwash your reach around a stump Kind of hard on the air and water lines exposed back there. The BCFP ones were WAY better because there is no pipe sticking out the back-- It all folds up nice and neat out of the way. What I will do is take some pictures for you and post them of shortning up and how they fold up and then winch up onto the back of the truck if you want. Then we can do the same with the Crown Z / M&B trailer. At least then you can see the difference Let me know Ok

HDX: I am always up for pictures of logging equipment. Do you or does anyone know if there are any of the BCFP folding reach trailers to be found anywhere? Or have the steel scrappers turned them into washing machines? There are a couple of HDX's here that look to have the preload ramps, the folding reach and a winch to pull the trailer up. The front bunk seems to be a conventional bunk though so I am not sure about how this setup is similar to the BCFP preload trailers. From what I can see of the HDX's here it looks pretty neat. Thanx.
