My 1994 CAT 307 excavator probably doesn't fit into this conversation being as old as it is and there isn't much in the way of emissions rules governing it but was manufactured in Japan, it is classified as a "grey market" machine by my CAT dealer and isn't in their system. However they DO... and have always sold me anything I've needed for it. The only problem with it in that respect is their information is only in book form and it's printed in Japanese. I'm not sure how they work around that but they have always been able to get me the parts I've needed. I bought it used in 2004 from my local Volvo dealer.....I have no back story as to how they came to have possession of it.
Also it never had a sticker like being shown here in it that I know of, but is WAS ten years old when I bought it.
