'Morning my friends. Got a Gehl 5625, SN# 8562, with a head cracked between the prechambers and valves on a 4-154 Perkins. On the block, right side lower rear is stamped XA. Engine SN# stamped on left side front behind injection pump, A04-J13481U. Perkins says no heads available. Was asked repeatedly for build #, until I finally talked to an OLD guy, like me, who laughed and said that's the right #, that's just an OLD Perkins. So, my question to all of you is where can I find a head? I have tried most salvage yards around, Gehl dealers, and Massey dealers. Used good is fine. I've already got a used bad. Did hear of a place in Minnesota that will fix it, $1350, no warranty, and still would need valve job. Oh, and Perkins says there is 1 head gasket and 1 valve cover gasket left in the world. No intake or exhaust gaskets. And the price for those 2 gaskets will stop your heart...
