extendahoe spontaneous disassembly on jd 310d

one of the wear plates on the upper end of the inner section of the extendable dipper just fell out of my machine yesterday. I'm scratching my head trying to figure out how it goes together, and why it fell out, and what pieces possibly fell out that didn't get noticed. (new guy was operating it the last few weeks) I have a technical manual for it but it doesn't have a section that shows this assembly. can anyone help me out?
