Excavator ROPS

Who has built there own cab rops ? I have a Kobelco 270 LC Mark IV, the front is not to hard to figure out
but the back of the cab is not, since the entry door swings back past the cab when it is opened all the way and there is an access door behind the cab also that swings to the front, any ideas/pictures?

At this time you probably should call the structure a guard and not a ROPS. There are no approved ROPS for excavators at this time. There are many logging shovels with cab guards that could probably pass as FOPS or Falling Object Protective Structures. I have heard that full ROPS protection is going to be required soon.

You can probably get some photos for ideas by doing a search on the web. Most put a bracket plate on the front of the house below the cab and build a structure over the top and tie it into the house frame.

Good Luck!
