Dump Truck Hyd Valve Question

View attachment 286363Hey guys I’m new to dump trucks, but we ended up find a 95 Mack. Was looking it over and seen the cable off the back of the hyd valve is cut. Was just wondering if it’s something that’s supposed to be hooked up or not. Also the pin on the top of the ram has a little play, should that be tight or is a little play fine
Thanks

The cable pulls the hydraulic valve back to the center position both relieving the system pressure, and holding the bed in the up, or dump position. Yes, it should be reconnected or you will either blow seals, or at the least cook the fluid if the bed is elevated with high pressure remaining applied.

Thanks I thought it must have done something with pressure when the bed was up should the line pull tight at max height or right before it reaches max

Usually just before maximum stroke of the cylinder. Usually they pull the operator handle back to center position in the cab if a linkage setup.
