Anyone have any knowledge of the starting circuit for this machine?

The symptoms are as follows
1/ Batteries all good, power comes to a big solenoid right there in front of the batteries which is "open". No onwards power.
2/ Short the solenoid over, but key switch will still not start the machine.
3/ Short the starter circuit to start the engine. The display/monitor alarm is buzzing, all dials reading maximum, all dash lights on for about 2 minutes, then it settles down.
4/ Machine will now start on the key, as per normal.......until the next day when it repeats this.

It seems to me that the monitor/module isn't completing its self-test procedure which should close the main power solenoid.

Anyone have any experience of these machines or have a wiring diagram for this circuit?
