What would cause a D8k to leak around the starter housing? It is transmission fluid because it is leaking enough to drain the transmission! Sorry for the short post but just kinda need to have some ideas before tearing into it! Thanks for any help yall are great help.

could be excessive internal torque converter leakage, failed scavenge pump or rubber balls missing out of starter mount.

Check the screen in the bottom of the torque divider case, it's under the cover with the drain plug in it. Then inspect the scavenge pump. I strongly suspect the torque convertor has cracked open and is flooding the housing aswell as forcing trans oil into the engine crankcase.

D8H's used to crack the aluminium housings in the torque convertor resulting in the convertor housing getting flooded, I guess that D8K's are the same. If you have the scavenge pump out, turn the engine over slowly and have a good look, you can often see if they are cracked.

Ok so we found what the problem was!!!!! So some how some teeth got knocked off the fly wheel in return the scavenger pump picked up the broken teeth and Jamed the gears and locking the pump up in return causing the drive gear for the pump to shear off the keeper pin and causing it to just spin the gear and not the shaft. So now it has a new pump and working well. Thanks for everybody's help once again!
