Does the outer bearing cap on the final get oiled from the final or is it filled separately? Thanks all in advance

On the D8H/K the oil is pumped via the gear driven pump through the centre of the dead shaft out to the hub bearings, the outer bearing nearest the cap is usually damaged or very marked after around 2'000hrs, this bearing sets the pre-loading on the hub.
