D5C Burst Hydraulic Hose on 6 way blade

1998 D5C Hystat-- Was running the dozer and caught the edge of tree with the bottom edge of the blade, which slowed the dozer momentarily, and burst one of the supply hoses to the opposite side cylinder that angles the 6 way--- would this happen even with a hose in good condition? or is it more likely that the hose was just old ? ( original 1998 hose) - just wondering if this type of problem occurs regularly- still fairly new to running a dozer.

Currentlly clearing some 50 acres for farmland.
An inspection of hose should give some incite on failure. With OE hose from 98 it could just be time for failure. Inspect all hoses for damage, twisting, binding, or corrosion swelling the hose.
