Hi, Komatsu D41E-6 (same as P i believe) , anyone had experience with one of these? should the blade control lever be smooth for lowering and raising blade (was looked at by someone a long time a go who said its just how it is but i cant beleive this at all) .The blade control lever feels like it hits something when push forward for lowering blade. like the Float function is straight off the hold position its a real clunk. i have attached a video, any ideas on what it could be? I disconnected linkage at the valve body and lever action was smooth so problem is in the body

There are two other controls on that valve unit , are they connected to rippers and a tilt ram , are they working correctly ? Could the wrong pipes be hooked up to wrong control valve . It maybe how it is but its not how it should be . I've never had one apart but have operated a D41 and it was smooth . Its going to have to come apart and be checked and going by you comment about somebody having a look at it and saying that is how it is you are the better bet . If the two other slices are not connected to anything you may be able to swap one over if your leaver won't reach .

Hey it has 6 way blade other 2 controls are for tilt and angle. the service manual i have has nothing about dissemble of the unit only the flow passages. As dont really want to remove unit just a bit worried about bits springing out if trying to pull it apart with valve bank still on dozer

Listening to the U-tube clip convincing enough to have to remove the whole unit . The problem is best sorted on a clean bench . Its an old problem thats not been fixed . It must be hard to get a good finish using the blade with it like that .
