Connecting cat ET to TL1055

Hello I am unable to connect ET to a cat TL1055 telehandler engine which is a c4.4. There is power to the communication adapter because the power light lights up but a error comes up on ET saying it is unable to connect, I have also tried it on a TL1055C machine and it does not connect to it's engine either. Is there some special settings that needs to be configured on ET for it to connect or something like that? It connects fine to other cat machines.
