So I'm guessing it is nothing more than a socket modified to be an extra deep socket to clear the puller screw?
From looking at Tyler's pictures they just cut it in half and added a section of steel tubing.

What size is it? If it’s a 15/16 it would be extremely useful for hydraulic filter retainer nuts.
