I need to replace the gear(s) since they are very worn on this starter. I'm not quite sure what tool is needed to open up the housing to gain access to the gear.

Would I be better off just buying a new starter? Where's a place that a replacement gear can be located?

Also, what is the required battery power to turn over the engine?
