Currently trying to understand Cat’s Code identification, Given there is CID-FMI-MID. How do I read these codes, going to post a picture below of a couple codes. I am trying to go off CAT’s REHS0126-18 Code Info.
I also have other ones I am trying to figure out( I’ll post them below), but There is no 0 in the MID identifiers within the REHS0126-18 Document, which is what I believe mine are.For a kickoff it can depend on what model of machine you are working with and whether they use CID Numbers or SPNs (Suspect Parameter Numbers).
REHS0126 will not necessarily have all the info you need, and a lot revolves around the correct interpretation of what's on the screen. The display format is either MID-CID-FMI or CID-FMI by the way. One of your photos shows the latter (MID039 CID590 FMI09). The other I'm not quite sure, I suspect they are both SPNs) but that is why it needs a machine Serial Number. It's not a telehandler by some chance is it.?
MID039 CID590 FMI09 - Engine ECM, Abnormal Update Rate
Experience pretty much. How do you tell which format it uses besides the Serial number? Just by the format it is in once it pops up on the service screen?
Experience pretty much.
All the Codes above with a "0" at the start instead of an MID Number are SPNs. they are at the back of REHS0126.
Also, one final thing, is there a way to clear all the codes without the use of CAT ET Software and Adapters? I already have the CAT ET software but it will take me another week to get the Adapters and everything, and I want to make sure all the codes were not just caused by low system voltage messing with the computer.Attached is the 280 page REHS0126-30
Being a PDF, it is searchable.
Unfortunately they cannot be cleared without ET. The Operator Monitor function only permits you to view them. Also, one final thing, is there a way to clear all the codes without the use of CAT ET Software and Adapters?
