Don't know about the 926 as far as pulling the cab but I had one off a 980GII a couple years back and it was a surprisingly easy job. Worst part was etting the quick disconnects for A/C lines to work!
Now we did have a couple H400 Houghs back in the day and only way to get trany out of them was out the bottom, but they were remote mounted so rear axle could stay in place.
