I have a new to me CAT 420D and want to change the fuel filters on it. The machine runs great. Is there anything I need to do in order to prevent an airlock in the fuel system? Thanks for your help.

Hey JJM

Did you figure it out?

I am fixing up an old 430D Caterpillar. It has been thru a lot in it's life including being partially burnt at one point apparently!
I have fixed some chewed up wires and the swing cylinders and it is mostly working now, but kinda splutters and runs rough and bogs down like it is not getting fuel reliably. The engine oil could definitely use a change.. so I figured I would change the oil and all the filters.

I am fairly new to Cat's and access to info seems to be really tough or I just have no idea how to search properly. It is tough to get part numbers, manuals or anything it seems.

I am used to being able to just find and order a full filter kit for my kubota TLB backhoe... get all filters for 100 bucks or so. I can't seem to find anything similar for the Cat 430D backhoe.
Can anyone point me to a parts list of filters and even better a reliable website selling a reasonably priced kit of all filters (hydraulic, engine oil, fuel, etc etc)

If you can help out a newbie, I would really appreciate it!

Thx
Gal

I buy Baldwin filters for my NH 555E. Try their filter finder. I searched for your machine and it came up with 2 motor options. You will need to pick which one but I’m just sending you a link so you can see what is provided.
