cat 416 Gray color tranny fluid.

I have a 89 cat 416 5pc08594, when i run the machine for awhile it hesitates for sometimes 8 seconds before reverse will work or engage. Filters has been changed as well as fluid. After running awhile i noticed grayish color to fluid in trans.. Has anyone had this happen to them. I'm thinking the radiator must be leaking in the trans cooler. Can anyone comment please.

that would sure indicate something other than trans.fluid` is it possible water could get in from outside?

Thanks for the reply. I don't think so, i keep the cab covered.

The water (coolant) mentioned might be getting in from the cooling system

I'm thinking the clutches started slipping, the fluid and filters where changed and now the clutches continue to slip.
