Hi all,
We have a CAT Hydraulic Hammer (4SL) Fitted to a CAT 330 LN excavator (8CK00054).
We've had this combo for a lot of years and never really had any issues with it. Last year the piston broke in half because we had it rented and it ran without nitrogen so we went ahead and ordered new piston, seals, new nitrogen chamber all charged and fitted and it worked perfectly since.
This morning when we went to work with it we observed some issues:
-the hammer would only beat/run properly once and then it will work very slowly
-we usually work with it at 4-5 engine speed, if we increase to 8-9 then it will work for for maybe 6-7 times and then it doe the same thing
-if you leave it for a moment and press the pedal again it does as above
-we've turned the taps on the stick on/off, removed the hoses, oil seems to be flowing through the taps.
-operators also say the hoses vibrate a lot since this morning.
Any idea what it could be or where to start? I'm thinking it might be a pressure valve somewhere.
Any help would be appreciated, we're really up against it, our loader had its brakes go yesterday so it's a real poor start of the season.
Thanks
Liviu
