I have a line on a cat 277b, don't know a lot about the unit but here is what I know: Approximately 6100hrs, new tracks, said to have good undercarriage. Cab unit but something is wrong with the ac and maybe the heat. (Said some sort of motor needs to be replaced.) I believe I can buy the machine for around 17k.

I own a towing company, the machine will be used to clean snow out of my lot, moving cars around and maybe some off road recovery.

I see the machine getting less than 50hrs a year.

Here are my questions:

Is 6000 hrs too many?

Is 17k a good price?

Is it up to the task of picking up a 3000 to 3500 lbs car?

What should I look for if I do decide to go look at this machine?
