I was brushhogging today and after about an hour I tried to reverse and the machine wouldn't move. It moved forward a couple of feet, and when I tried to reverse it, it still wouldn't move. I raised the bar and got out to walk around the machine. Everything was clear so I thought I would try it again. I put down the bar, released the brake, and I had nothing in either joystick. We dragged it out of the woods and have a spot to try to troubleshoot it. Having only the owners manual, I have no procedure to follow. Does anyone have the proper procedure to follow to check out the lockout system? Or anyone with experience with this problem? One more thing, since I've owned the machine my float control would not stay unless I held it down. Because I don't use it that much I just lived with it. Fooling around with it after the controls failed, with the engine running, I pushed the control into the float position and it stayed by itself. Could this be possibly related? A coincidence? I've had the door off for the summer, so the door switch is bypassed. I played with the seatbelt, no luck, and the light goes off when the bar is pulled down so I am assuming the bar switch is working. All help will be appreciated.

Curious what you find out. The float on my 257B doesn't work either unless I hold down stick. Hope the controls aren't next.
