cat 257 (cmm) electric issues

04 machine only issues to date has been running gear--easy---now elect issues---running fine then all stop,after cking fuse foe key sw dead replaced it and started--lowered the boom and fuse popped--replaced again tried to start and it popped again twice----checked connections on loom from batt thru cab and on ecm plus the safetys--nothing----where do I start now ?

Update---after checking all other electrical things--pulled starter had it on the test bench--pulling excessive amps--on 2nd check she smoked out--problem found
