We have a 51u cat 225 one track works perfect the other tries to turn but wont pull itself (can see it jerk a little). It has a rebuilt track motor and the brake is releasing the track free wheels and the other pulls it. The motor will spin both directions with it unbolted from the brake like nothing is wrong with it. Final drive turns like it should and doesnt look like anything is wrong in it. I am sure it's something dumb but what are we missing?

Sound like you have possibly lost a sun gear in the final. Remove the fill and drain plug in the outer case and see what kind of metal is on the plug. If no or little oil comes out with the plug at the bottom of the case, get ready to remove the outer cover at the very least. There is a possibility this could be a hydraulic problem but I would check the final drive for metal first.
