Case 580se head removal

This might be a dumb question. Do you have to remove the exhaust manifold to pull the head? Of course all the bolts holding it on at rusted solid. Been trying a little heat and Kroil to loosen them up. Thanks Tom

The E has the CDC ( Cummins) and the water pump is located low on the front of the block, nothing close to the head area.

Ha, at least you have bolt heads, mine are long gone.
Going to dread the thought of ever taking that exhaust manifold off.
Going to be doing a lot of drilling and tapping. Lol
