Miller didn't post the idle amps draw in the older manuals but finally did in later manuals. With PFC's it draws 20.8 amps at idle. I think the easiest solution is just to shut the machine if you won't be welding for a while. Someone on another forum also pointed out that most non commercial users aren't welding everyday. They might have projects that take up 4 or 5 days a month.
