Best Dragline Crane??

THeres some good sugestions here about cranes. Ive never run dragline yet but started out on a 5299 American and ended up clamming with it. It was a pain not having a duty cycle crane. It was a pain to move to but we used it mainly for setting iron and placing concrete.

Without a doubt a Link Belt ls108 around a 1970 model.All around smooth swing and boom functions throw the speed-o-matic around 3/4 and let her rip.The one I ran had a GM diesel and purred all day long.
Jetstar just read your post and If I had 1 crane for cycle work like a concrete pour it would definetly be the 597 that is one awesome machine but find it just a little light for dragline work.Have you ever ran a 4250 American?It's a good stout machine speed close to 597 but looks like a mini 5299.
