Looks like there is a nice TL6 long boom in the background there Skadill, and a rubber tired American off to the right!

A dump body converted to fire/water tanker. This could be an old M&B body. Great idea for modeling:)

075 Actually that box came from the old Sarita Dump area Was in the bush. Use to be used as a water fill up for the trucks hauling down there. It was put there when taken off the old Sterling trucks that were used for road construction in that area. The master mechanic from Elk River Timber (Ralph Cox) came down to Sarita and bought 4 or 5 of these and hauled them up to Quinsam and installed them on their LMSWL Macks when they were extending their roads. This was the only survivor and Jim Falconer and I hauled it out and brought it to our stash at Rons place. One day we will stick it on one of the old trucks. We were thinking of putting it on "Humphrey" the 1947 Diamond T because she has the 65,000lb Mack rear ends and 12:00X24 tires so she would look pretty neat if nothing else but a gate guard. I think Hayesno1 has a few pics of "Humphrey" If he post's one you will see what I mean

HDX; Thanks for great information as usual. Here shots of "Humphrey" the old 1947 Diamond T. I think old preload/5th wheel from old Hayes HD #H208 is "sitting" on "Humphrey"s rear frame. HDX; please correct me if I am wrong. What's the story of #H125?

Hayesno1 " Humphrey " was a truck put together by Butler Brothers down in the Sooke/Jordan River area where they worked. Hard to believe but she was actually under their low bed dragging it around for some time. Not too sure of the dates Friend of mine name of Mike Giles drover her moving equipment from time to time back in his youth. Just enough to scare the daylights out of himself. She eventually ended up at Messachie Lake as a Fire Tanker and then Gordie Lennox bought her as a standby fire truck when Pacific Logging surplused her. Somebody loosened the front bottom diff plug and one day while they were using her the plug fell out and it took the front diff out. Gordie tried but was not able to find another diff for her(65,000lb Mack) so then she just sat. I was looking for a 8341 aux for one of the other old trucks and she had one so he agreed to sell her to me. We lowbedded her to Port Alberni and we had a chance to go over her and I thought maybe she deserves another chance so after sitting for another 5 years we got her engine running again(6-71 GM) and she runs GREAT so there she sits awaiting the time to install the box.Yes she still has her aux trans in her These box's had the twin outoard hoist cylinders but I think it will be just "U" bolted to the frame as a static display. Note the rail road track welded to the top of the box side's. This served to save the box from to much damage while being loaded. Pacific Logging also used the H numbers on their trucks same as M&B so thats where the H125 came about

HDX & Hayesno1: Sure is great to see trucks like "Humphrey" being restored. Not much info on trucks like that out there. My guess is there were a lot of similar trucks put together, especially after the war, using surplus military equipment. I built several log truck models based on the Diamond T tank transporter prime movers (same cab as Humphrey?). I noticed that Weyerheauser used several of the trailers for building fire tankers using railroad tank car bodies for tanks.

Wow Skadill! I sure enjoy viewing all your videos on your youtube channel. I notice the partial D8 14a in the pic. I am trying to put one together out of two. I need the brake linkage and booster parts from a late serial # 14a. You are probably the guy who knows where there might be one that somebody would be willing to part out reasonably. Any help would be appreciated. I'm way up north(Yukon) but anywhere in B.C. is still not to bad for freight on a few parts. Cheers.

Short Log Truck

This 1990 or 91 Ford only has 30,000km or 18,500 miles on it.It hauled cottonwood logs from a job of ours around 1993.I took the pic less than 2 years ago.It has been off the road I think since the mid to later 90's
