Auxiliary hydralics in 314c problem

I just got a swiveling grapple in my machine. I have never used the auxiliary hyd on it befor. When I engage the hyd by pushing the door pedal forward the motor spins as it should But then coast to a stop and when I try to reverse nothing happens. It seems as if it is set up to run a hyd motor and not a cylinder. Is there a valve that changes the flow???
