So we had two gas station projects at the beginning of this year. The picture below is the other one which had a substantial amount of cut and haul off.

The site required a nice size retainer wall at the rear of the property, 33' at it's tallest. The owner decided on a soil nail wall and hired a company out of Colorado to install it.

Our scope was excavation and haul off. The process involved us digging down a 5' shelf around the perimeter of the retainer wall then the wall crew drilled holes, grouted epoxy rebar, hung wire and the applied shotcrete.

The process involved excavating 5' deep, soil nails, shotcrete and repeat to grade.

It was an interesting as well as a PITA job but it paid well. Rented a 326FL for a few months for this job as the other hoe was tied up on the other gas station.

It was a nice size job before we ran into limestone, then the scope grew a bit. Rented a 336FL with hammer for 4 months to break all the rock beneath the retainer wall, the gas tank hole, storm drains, building footings, Stormtech detention system and you get the idea..

Close up of the first "lift" of the soil nail wall. The black strips are drains that run behind the wall.

AZ our area has abundant limestone, quarries dot the landscape with the higher grade limestone being made into lime for all sorts of uses. The lesser grade limestone is crushed into aggregates.

At one time on this job we had a 336FL and a Kobelco 300 both with hammers on the site. There is a pic down thread of both of them hammering the tank hole.

I was able to get enough hammered limestone from this job to cover our new yard of approx. 3/4 acre 6" thick. Gotta make hay while the sun shines.:D

Along the way I found a new truck.:D

2018 F350 XLT long bed 6.7 4x4. It has the ultimate trailer tow camera system which is slick, remote start, center console with bucket seats, chrome package, gooseneck hitch, sliding rear window, nav and a bunch of other stuff.

I've owned a lot of trucks Ford and GM in my career and I have to say this is the finest truck I've owned.

Had to go to Tampa to find a truck with the specs I wanted at the price I wanted to pay. Worked out well, the better 1/2 and I got to spend two days at Universal Studios on the way home.:D

So this was my first bank heist. The 329FL on loan from the Cat dealer while we waited on our new hoe made quick work of the front entrance. We had cut the power and phone the previous day in order to disable the alarm.

The aluminimum store from gave little resistance.

IMG_0047.JPG

The drive through lanes went down quickly as well, no cash in the vacuum canisters either..

In the lobby, working my way towards the safe where the money was supposed to be.

Finally made my way to the vault.

We didn't need a combination, we had a Cat and some rigging.:D

I knew the vault was pre-cast prior to bidding but never dealt with one. This pre-cast vault was simple in design, construction and de-construction. We got 2 coil bolts that fit the pre-fab panels.\

IMG_0053.JPG

Fab'd up a jig from the steel that supported the drive thru canopy and some angle we had left over from another demo job. The clevis's are from a 60" CMP detention project.

This is the last of the ceiling panels for the vault.

IMG_0060.JPG

We had a problem with the dumpster service so we called in a trailer dump to move some debris. This building was basically a big house - wood frame with brick veneer. There was a lot of trash and not much recycle.

With the dump trailer we knocked out the debris haul fairly quickly. The debris was wood framing, drywall, OSB and drop in ceiling - nasty stuff to deal with but came out of the trailer fine after it was processed.

We were able to get on 40 yard can of tin shred. I haven't picked up the ticket from the scrap yard to see how much it weighed.

Somebody could have had a world class gun safe for their new shop.......

Then again, maybe you need it to store your own $$$$$

Looks good, glad you are busy, we've been pretty busy the last 2-3 weeks, but we usually get busy later than the dirt working guys.

Crane op the entire vault is for sale including the door. I have the combo and keys for the inner and outer door. Shipping could be a bitch though.:)

Oh- so I should buy a vault, that you have the keys and the combo for, that I could install in my shop......

Somehow, someway, I don't know how that would be secure storage for me.

Then again, I really don't need secure storage for a piece of paper that says what I owe the banker.

I have one I took out of a bank years ago. It was all steel thought. Always thought someone with a couple of daughters would be interested in it when they started to bring around some of their dates. LOL

Crane op I'm too lazy to drive to MO to find out what you'd put in it plus you can change combo.:D

Jakebreak we currently have 2 - 6.7's, a 7.3 and a 6.2 gasser. The 6.7's have been great, the 2013 has 100K on it so far.

I'll probably end up selling the door as it's the most valuable and use the panels to build a safe room.

Jakebreak we're about as busy as the cat that ate Ex-Lax. I got two digging holes, one covering up and one hunting new ground.:D

Seriously we are blessed to have as much work coming across the board. I am going after a few large jobs as well as our normal retail/restaurant jobs. Currently we have one green auto parts store, a red circle gas station and a medical office. Looking at a 50K sf warehouse addition, another green parts store, professional office cafeteria addition and few small jobs in between.
