670G. How bad is this...

Replacing the carrier rollers today and noticed this issue with the track chain. How does one go about repairing this?

Press in a new link not to big of a deql if one has the gear to do so.

But judgong off the photo there new rails are probably the correct long term repair. Prehaps the bushing could be welded to the link for temperary repair

Only to get it across the lot to a spot to wrap the new rails....

Those rails are beyond any sort of half-ass duck tape/baling wire patch job. They were done 1000 hours ago.

Furthermore, I cannot imagine how the rest of the machine was treated by someone that would run it until the rails reached the point of almost being immobile.

That's a big machine! Not many outfits with a machine that size that wouldn't have done the undercarriage a long time ago. Hope they have deep pockets, it won't be cheap but needs to be done.
