Well it was 50+ degrees here today so it was a good day to roll around under the machine. Once I got under there I found our why the old disc was missing, it looks like it had actually come in contact with the housing and ground into the old seal.

The new seal sat a little deeper than the old one so I'm thinking there should not be an issue.

I've gotta say it's nice to finally have a parking break. :D

Did you ever remove your drain plug ? If you did what did you have to do to get it out ?

Actually Tinkerer, I never did get it off, the local auto parts store did not have a 3/4" drive 1 1/8" hex socket so I ended up just capping the lines to the pump. Kind of messy but I got it done.
