Are you waiting and watching it? It should go out after about 2-5 minutes. The one on my Komatsu does come back on, I haven't sat and watched it, just know that I've came back after a few hours and it's on again, wait a few minutes and it goes out, shut the disconnect off and everything is fine. As long as the light is off, I'd think you would be fine shutting it off.

Might need to hook up a meter in series with your negative battery connection to find out how many milli-amps are actually draining out of the battery after about 10-20 minutes. That will dictate if something is wrong, was left on, or in need of a new battery or in need of some battery charging system.
If you dont know how to do the test, just ask and will explain.

SER.#FD203264 and it drawing .5 AMPS makes a good spark , light only goes out when battery is dead or I shut switch off, I found a bad connection for a relay which turned off caution symbol on screen but led lamp at switch still on, checking to see if i can confirm that DEF PUMP is actually working, it has been using DEF like normal for machine just this lamp and dead battery thing has been happening since between Thanksgiving and Christmas

0.5 amps is 500 milli amps, and yes dead in 1 weekend. Need to hook up battery negative cable in series with multimeter and while watching meter pull out 1 fuse at a time. You will then know which circuit is using the power. If nothing is using it, then disconnect all wires from Alternator and it will disappear.
Need a quality multimeter to do this test, any questions fire away.

Think you have some letters missing in front of numbers, How many hours on your unit, if you have any codes post them up for more responses. Do you have yellow light on or red light on?

Where’s the Product Status Report that the Cat tech would have downloaded when he hooked up to the machine.? He should have given you a copy but sometimes the report only appears if you ask for it.
