2023 CATd3 tracks to tight.

Hello, i know how to tighten tracks on a dozer by just adding grease but not sure how to loosen them? thanks

Once you loosen it, you'll probably have to pump it back up a little if you're just adjusting for proper track tension. Cat procedure says to tighten and measue back to make a mark on the track frame but you can measure sag with a straight edge on the grousers and get close enough. Slightly loose is better than too tight.

If you release too much and need to add grease, just do it a pump or two or three at a time, moving the machine back and forth each time...if you pump it until it looks right without moving it, when you do move it's likely going to be too tight again. At least that's been my experience on ALL of my various lag machines with grease tighteners.
