Hi I have a 2018 Bobcat S550 SN AHGM14550

It has been giving the customer problems since it was new and had all sorts of people looked at it including the dealer but no one ever wanted to get involved with it.
The customer said Bobcat remoted in a year ago and got codes
- L7404 Gateway Controller No Communication
- D7501 CAN Joystick Info Error.

I went to look at it last week. This issue happens when it gets hot so right between 30-45 minutes every day every time and it wont work normal until cooled down so restart later in day or following day. The codes I got that came up on the display are
- M3204 ACS Controller No Communication to Bobcat Controller
- M7504 Drive No Communication
- W3276 ACS Can Joy Stick Information Error

I looked at wiring, I don't think its wiring, it has to be one of the modules cause its when it gets hot and like i said it does it every day but I don't know how to narrow down what module is giving issue cause I have no troubleshooting info.

I did OHM out some wiring at the 4 pin plug for the LH joystick due to the D7501 code and everything wiring wise liked good from there, no shorts to power or ground from either of those 4 wires. Checked fuses, ok. Swapped all ECM/Computer/Module related relays in the panel out with other circuits.

Any information will help. Thanks in Advance

Hi, I too am having this situation with my 2012 T190 with SJC. At first it was an ACS code so we replaced ACS controller and then a week later it threw a gateway controller code, so we replaced that controller, then a week later it threw a Joy stick can code which went away and now just about 5 operating hours later after about 45 mins of operation it locks up and throws a L7404 gateway controller no communication code and wont move until it cools down hours later. I was wondering if maybe the wire harness could be the culprit? It seems strange to have new controllers installed and still a lack of communication when machine warms up. We did clean connections and dielectric grease them. Has anyone figured this out? Thanks

first, check the negative cable on battery. especially small one. it must be clean and tide.
second, replace the joystick. i had a lot of problem with it in hot weather. (try to use A/C if available on your machine).
third, check the wire from panel comes down to main frame. especially near hinge. try to do some winkle test. some times the wire disconnect from inside, but the plastic cover, hold it tide, and connection will be available, but when it get warm, plastic cover get soft, and the connection lose happened inside the wire.

If you suspect a module you need software
No other way to access a controller. You swapped what controllers ?? Gateway and workgroup controller ? Ive replaced lots of acs controllers over the years.. Gateway and Aux controllers.. Maybe 2 in the past 10 years. If you swapped controllers and problem didn't go away you left your self with one answer already. Heat related ?? Never seen or heard of it. When you say don't restart thats when you get the controller com error ?? You have can issues on the joystick and communication errors that also use the can to communicate controller to controller. This would lead me to believe you have issue on the can side. Unfortunately getting into that requires more than a multi meter. Has the harness ever been replaced. Won t get into the stories but just this year Ive probably replaced 16 machine harness for similar issues. Bobcat harnesses are a pian to open and you usually do more damage getting the cover off. Cab harness would not cause com between controllers error. That would be lower machine harness. Do you have any way to watch the can signal ??
